Steven Dwight Brown
Avon - Passed away on October 4, 2022 at age 65 near his hometown of Avon, New York. Steve is survived by his son, Alexander Steven Brown; his former wife, Debra Brown, and siblings Susan Van Essen, Cheryl Converse, and Scott Brown. He was predeceased by his parents, Dwight and Joan (Hatfield) Brown.
Even though a failing heart took him away from this world, his loving heart left a beacon of light for all who knew him. He will be missed every day.
A graduate of Keene State College, Steve spent his career in consumer electronics and retail. He cherished his time fly fishing on the rivers of New Hampshire and North Carolina. He loved the competition and camaraderie (and even the challenges) on the golf course. As a youth baseball coach in Geneva, Illinois, Steve wanted the kids to own the game. It wasn’t about him…it was about making it a good experience for the kids.
But most important to Steve was his family. He was endlessly proud of his son, Alex, always supporting him as he developed through sports, school, job, and life. Everyone who knew Steve knew that he was an extremely kind, loving, gentle and peaceful person.
A memorial service will be held at Central Presbyterian Church in Avon, New York on November 19, 2022 at 11 AM.
