Avon - Passed away on Friday, Sept. 23, 2022 at age 94. She is survived by 4 children; Susan, Cheryl (Jack) Converse, Steven, and Scott (Laura), and her half-sister, Carol Hatfield (Keith). She was know as “Nana” by her 8 grandchildren and her 5 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dwight; half-brother, Howard Hatfield; son-in-law, Richard Van Essen and granddaughter, Cheri Converse.
She was born on June 25, 1928 in Patchogue, NY. She graduated from Alfred University where she met and married the love of her life, Dwight Brown. Joan was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Avon, where she was very active in numerous groups.
A Memorial service to honor the life of Joan will be held at Central Presbyterian Church in Avon on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 11 AM. Memorial contributions may also be made to the Central Presbyterian Church 133 Genesee Street Avon, NY 14414 in her memory.
