Obituary for Patricia B. "Pat" Peters (Butler)

Patricia B. Peters

LIMA- April 23, 2022 at age 86 passed away peacefully after a long battle with dementia. Pat was predeceased by her loving husband, Earl and grandson, Paul Gordon.

She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Adams of Livonia, Kristin Gordon of IN, and her son of Michael Peters of Geneseo; grandchildren, Caron (David) Bulger their children Sonya, 4 and Elaina 7 months) Cara (Jared) Penley, Claire Adams, Noah (Emily) Gordon, Jared (Emma) Adams their children Ruth, 5 and Jethro, 3; 3 half siblings, cousins John, Diane, Sandy, and Val.

Pat was a loving wife, mom, grandma, and friend to many. She took pristine care of her home inside and out. Pat loved reading, especially her Bible, praying for family, friends, ministries, and missionaries daily, journaling, working word search and jig saw puzzles, gardening, and spending time with Earl, family and friends.

A year after Early died, Pat moved into Morgan Estates Assisted Living in Geneseo until July 2020 when she fell and broke her hip. She never walked again and moved to the Memory Care Floor at the Episcopal Church Home in Rochester. After in-person visits resumed her friends and family visited often. Pat especially enjoyed her wheel chair walks outside. As her diseased progressed and her eyesight and hearing became duller, she loved being read to from her Bible, singing hymns and gospel songs (which she remembered word for word) and catching up on the latest photos and news “from the outside”. Most of the time Pat was gracious and patient with her caregivers. She’s now in the presence of the Lord with her new body and new mind.

Friends and Family are invited to her Memorial Service Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 11 AM at O’Connell- Doughtery Funeral Home 2041 Lake Ave. Lima. Light luncheon to follow service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Rochester and the Christian Broadcasting Network, Virginia Beach, VA.
