Oh Jack where to begin... we talked so much about this day, and a lot about it recently... and now it’s here, that day was Tuesday, I just saw you Friday. We talked about getting a drink as soon as your ankle was healed... we talked about how this was going to be the change in your health.. we just had to get through this. You said “ love ya Danny” and I said “ love you!”.
You were who I ran to if I was in trouble, caught drinking I ran to you, got my heart broke I ran to you, someone gave me problems I ran to you, if I need to just vent I ran to you. If I broke something run to Jack. I always knew where I could find you and I won’t find you there anymore, I won’t hear you say “ hey Danny, hey baby cuz” . I remember when I had a bad break up in high school you came up at night and slept on my bedroom floor so I wasn’t alone, and probably more so to be sure that guy wouldn’t show up or else. When I was maybe about 12 I cut my foot wide open at the house and you came running in and asked “ who’s bleeding?!” And I told you I cut myself, you picked me up and put my foot up in the sink and got the glass out. I remember even earlier times when I was probably like 6-7 years old, I’d be with grandma and she would bring me down to the house to do laundry... I would sneak off to search for you in the house hoping you were home from school so we could wrestle, i remember laughing while you tossed me around and gave me airplanes.... but then there were times you and Julie would terrorize me.. that mask, that god awful mask with like 4 heads popping out with blood.. I hated that thing! You guys would lie and tell me you wouldn’t wear it, it was gone.. next thing I know your chasing me around the house with it on till I cried and screamed. So many memories such little time... I’m
Not sure what to do without you Jack, I’ll miss our talks... your smile, your laugh... and especially your gorilla call, and most importantly you

Looking at pictures that friends had posted, I heard your laugh, clear as day. One of the funniest and scariest memories I have is when Jack was working on demolition derby cars at my house (ex’s house now) and he was welding a gas tank. My ex kept encouraging Jack to wear a welding mask, but you refused.
A spark hit him in the eye and he began screaming in pain. As we were calling the ambulance, I called his parents to let them know. Mr. Chatterton kept asking if we had potatoes 🥔? I was so confused by the question, when Jack asked what he said I replied with confidence “he wanted to know what was for dinner, I told him we had burgers, but I’m not sure why that was important. He seemed upset that I didn’t serve potatoes?” When we arrived at the hospital Mr and Mrs Chatterton were there and I was again asked about the potatoes. I told him that “we didn’t have any with dinner!”

Exasperated, he finally shouted, “NO, cut potatoes to put on his eyes to soothe them!”

I always had potatoes on hand after that. 😉❤️🥔 it has been years since we have spoken, but you were always a good friend With a welcoming hug and your laughter has filled so many of my memories. It is so hard to lose so many friends, so young, it just doesn’t seem real. You are missed. RIP jack.
