Obituary for Lewis W. "Lew" Haley

AVON - August 31, 2019 at age 91. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janet. Their son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Laurie and daughter, Mary Lou Mulvaney. Grandchildren, Roxanne and Zachary (Emily) Haley, Sean (Nina) Spicer and Jenna Spicer. Brother, Bernard “Pete” Haley, sisters, Doris Rice and Ruby Cushman. He is predeceased by brothers, Merton, Gordon, Cecil and Lawrence, sisters, Gertrude and Charlotte Haley.

Lew was born on May 1, 1928 in Grafton, Vermont. Lew served in the United States Marine Corps for four years during World War II. He then settled in New York where he remained for the rest of his life. Many will remember Lew as a barber where he was the “King of Flattops” and enjoyed telling everyone he was the “world’s worst” barber.
